Jo Hawthorne

Jo Hawthorne is the Head Administrator & Operations Manager at the Melanin Institute of Hue-man Technology (MIHT). Jo earned her B.B.A. in Finance, graduating cum laude from Howard University in Washington D.C. She also took graduate courses at American University & the University of Maryland Global Campus. Jo has owned/co-owned 4 brick and mortar establishments in Washington, DC & California.

In 2011, Jo co-founded Hawthorne Homemade, Washington, DC’s 1st organic juice bar, providing wellness coaching, nourishing foods and fresh veggie juice cocktails to loyal customers. Hawthorne prepared hundreds of seasonal juice cleanses for clients. Results included weight loss, increased energy levels, mental clarity, and a ‘spring break’ for the digestive system.

Jo currently works as a Medical Massage & Cranial-Sacral Therapist. In addition, she provides nutrition counseling, juice cleanse packages, juicing demos, meditation, stretching & whole body wellness workshops. Private & Group sessions available.

As a 19-year licensed massage therapist (LMT), Jo has performed well over 10,000 hours of therapeutic healing massage & bodywork. Jo received her ‘Masters’ in Massage Therapy from the Potomac Massage Therapy Institute (PMTI) in Washington, DC. The 600-hour manual-therapy intensive training, included the sciences of anatomy, physiology, pathology and kinesiology.
